An old ad from the early 1980s for this revolutionary “custom” pistol, one of the most advanced handgun projects ever realized. While I prefer fighting handguns to be a little less slippery and the sighting system was a bit “over the edge”, the ASP had a coolness, spookiness and efficiency factor that is hard to explain. I would rate it number ONE in this regard and there is probably a good reason why John Gardner chose it for his fictional “Bond 2.0”, after some aberrations with the HK VP70. I have always liked the 39 series by Smith & Wesson a lot (they were the base guns for the ASP) and have owned a 3913 “Ladysmith” for a few years.
Much thought went into the ASP.
