Bidor 105 Parang chopping knife

Some photos of my Bidor model 105. These choppers are extremely effective and durable. 4mm thickness carbon blades with soft spines and a length of 9,75 inches on this model, which is my favorite. At only 318 grams weight, this one will not weigh your backpack down, yet chop like a small axe and better than lightweight machetes in dense woods. A Bidor Parang should make building a shelter in an emergency a snap and save you time. The edges are slightly convex ground, so wood carving is not really satisfactory, but taping a Mora knife to the faux-leather sheath of the Bidor will solve this “problem”. Also, rubber band rapping of the plastic handle helps handling a lot. Here is a picture of the readily available models from outdoordynamics.com. Shipping is a bit expensive, so you might want to team up with a buddy to order three or more of them. You will not regret it.
