SOG has updated the S44 lightweight compact pocket tool. The pliers now have true needle noses that come in really handy, a small lanyard attachment option is now present and allen screws allow tension adjustments. The tools still do not lock, there is just some slipjoint “security” and the leather sheath is still high quality.
I also like the new and inexpensive Stabilo “pointball” pen. It is remarkably thicker and longer than a Parker Jotter, with a soft rubber grip area, takes an identically shaped refill and is made mainly from recycled plastics. The refill paste has a very smooth flow so writing fast is easy. To me, it feels a bit like my Jetstream from Mitsubishi. The clicky mechanism seems very solid for such a low priced item.
